Candy Land

A frosted wafer road over a strawberry-milk sea.

Candy Land – Slope

Overview

Candy Land is the friendliest world in Slope and the best place to learn the controls. The road is a wide frosted wafer lined with candy-cane rails, the ball rolls a little slower than on other tracks and gravity is slightly softer, so jumps feel floaty and forgiving.

Don’t let the pastel colours fool you, though. Rolling donuts, swinging lollipops and gumdrops crowd the road, and sticky chocolate patches can leave you stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Obstacles and hazards

  • Rolling donutsGiant donuts roll across the road. Wait for the gap or pass behind them.
  • Swinging lollipopsLollipops swing like pendulums over the lane. Time your pass for when the candy head is at the far side.
  • GumdropsSoft but solid. Treat them like walls.

Special terrain

  • Jelly bounce padsBright jelly squares launch the ball high into the air. Line up before you hit them so you land back on the road.
  • Chocolate patchesSticky chocolate slows the ball and makes steering sluggish. Get into position before you roll onto it.

Tips

  • Use Candy Land to find your favourite steering sensitivity before trying harder worlds.
  • On chocolate, steer early: the ball responds much more slowly.
  • After a bounce pad, look at where the road continues, not at the ball.
  • The wide road lets you keep to the centre, which leaves room to dodge either way.
